It can be said that academic guidance is: introducing students to their rights and duties in the institution to which they belong, directing them with words, emulation and stories in a way that benefits them at that stage, and in the future of their lives, and helping them develop themselves and raise their awareness of what benefits them and their country that ensures their progress, advancement and urbanization, through educational and methodological plans that are compatible with their abilities and capabilities until their goals are achieved. ".
The importance of academic advising for students:
Academic advising represents a fundamental and pivotal pillar in the educational system, as it is an objective response to face social, economic and humanitarian variables at the heart of the system and its educational philosophy, in addition to being responsive to the needs of the student to communicate with university education, which represents a national development necessary to achieve the requirements of the self of humanity in creativity and excellence, and academic guidance is represented in the two axes of the counseling process: the educational institution and students, and this role is enhanced by the competent academic advisor who works through the Academic Advising Unit throughout the academic year, and The academic advising process is integrated with the awareness and understanding of all parties to the advising process, with the aim of guiding students to the most appropriate ways to choose the best ways in order to achieve the desired success and adapt to the university environment. This goal is achieved by providing students with various academic skills that raise their academic achievement and discuss their scientific ambitions and also includes educating students about the university's regulations and laws, all through various advising services such as individual academic advising, advising programs and various consultations. In addition, academic advising helps students crystallize their goals and make appropriate decisions regarding their academic and professional future by making the most of all available possibilities and alternatives. Academic advising continuously simplifies and facilitates administrative procedures in order to provide the best and highest quality services to students in record time in accordance with the comprehensive quality standards sought by the college in light of the increasing means of investment in educational and intellectual projects, scientific research, and others.

Vision
Translating the college's ambitions in helping students understand their academic problems and ensure that they are treated in a beneficial way that results in the graduation of a generation of citizens equipped with science, faith, knowledge and self-confidence, and the ability to participate in building development.
Mission
The Academic Advising Unit provides various counseling services to students, including choosing the appropriate courses according to the set study plan and guiding students on how to deal with the various difficulties that they may face during the study period to facilitate academic continuity and excellence.
Objectives
· Creating the appropriate conditions to achieve the normal growth of students, building positive social relations for the student with his colleagues, faculty members and university employees, and building successful responses in facing the academic problems he encounters in different situations throughout the study period at the university.
· Preparing new students to know university life through guidance and guidance programs to introduce the college, its deanship and supporting departments, and how the student obtains its services in cooperation and coordination with the specialized administration of the college, as well as introducing students to the variables they may face in their university life and how to deal with them through the unit's programs offered in introductory paragraphs, an introductory week, and specialized courses held for that purpose.
· Educating students about academic difficulties and study skills, and the schedule of time management, and providing them with skills that raise their academic achievement and achieve their personal compatibility.
· Helping students choose the appropriate specialization according to their potential, scientific interests and the needs of the labor market.
· Encouraging outstanding students to achieve more and directing them towards investing their abilities and potential in areas that suit their scientific inclinations and interests..
· Follow-up students who are struggling academically and help them acquire the necessary skills to increase their educational achievement.
· Helping students with special needs, during their university life, to achieve the highest degrees of psychological and social adaptation and academic achievement according to what their abilities allow, studying their problems, and working to solve them.
· Spreading awareness of academic regulations among students.
Tasks
· Continuous communication with the academic advising units at the university to follow up on the latest developments.
· Clarify academic procedures such as withdrawal, addition, deprivation and apology for a course or semester.
· Follow up the meeting of academic advisors with their students and review their reports.
· Issuing everything that serves the academic advising process (banners, brochures, .....).
· Coordinate an academic meeting for new students at the beginning of each semester.
· Holding a course every semester to explain the student's entry into the electronic portal and ways to deal with it.
· Update the new student advisor's guide.
· Develop a business plan for struggling students
· Ensure that all students are linked to their advisors in the academic system so that the advisor can follow up on their academic records, schedules, and progress according to the study plan.
· Announcing the dates of academic procedures.
· Spreading the culture of academic advising in the college by activating the friends of advising.
Unit Structure and Internal Committees
Unit Initiatives Committee: Dr Khaled Mohammed
The coordinator of this committee follows up on the initiative's programs and coordinates with the members of the unit to propose awareness programs, organize meetings and prepare a comprehensive report on the initiative's achievements.
Psychological and mental counselling committee for tests in the college: Dr Fankana Potapang
It lists the number of doctors who have special health or psychological conditions in all departments and prepares a file that includes information about these students in the departments and coordinates educational seminars on the importance of psychological and mental preparation for tests.
Distinguished Students Committee: Dr Hajo Al-Bashir
· Limiting the number of distinguished students whose averages are 4 for the literary departments and 3.5 for the scientific departments) in all departments.
· Preparing a file that includes students' names, university numbers, and contact information according to departments.
