Training course/“University Teaching and Learning Strategies”

Under the auspices of the College’s Vice Deanship for Development and Quality, the Training and Development Unit was established at the College of Sciences and Humanities in Al-Salil - female students. A training course for faculty members at the college entitled “University Teaching and Learning Strategies” on Wednesday, 10/25/2023, at eight in the evening, via Zoom. It was presented by Dr. Sheikha Ali Ahmed Asiri.

The course covered the following topics:

·        Introduction to effective teaching

·        The concept of method, method and strategy

·        The concept of education and teaching

·        Standards of good teaching method

·        Factors affecting the choice of method and method

·        The traditional trend and the modern trend in teaching methods and the advantages of each one over the other

·        Classification of teaching methods

·        General principles and observations  in achieving better teaching

·        University teaching methods, which are summarized in four methods:

Lecture method.

Discussion method.

Exploration method.

Brainstorming method.

By the end of the course, the trainees are able to choose and diversify effective teaching strategies that suit the students’ abilities and are consistent with the learning outcomes of the course taught by the faculty member, which aims to improve the quality of teaching and the educational process at the college and university.
